Research Network for Metals in Medicine

 

 

During January 2004, the seed Network held regional meetings throughout Australia. As details of the outcomes of these meetings become available, they will be posted here. On the 19th of January 2004, the NSW members of the Network held their regional meeting at the School of Chemistry, University of Sydney. The meeting was attended by more than 20 members, including representatives from ANSTO, The Children's Cancer Institute, The Sydney Cancer Centre, University of Sydney, Heart Research Institute, University of Wollongong and University of Western Sydney, with a diverse array of presentations. The meeting was highly successful and paved the way for formulating plans for the full network application to be submitted in March.

The regional Queensland meeting took place on the 22nd of January 2004 and details will be posted as they become available.

Similar meetings were held by Western Australian and Victorian members of the Network on the 23rd of January in Melbourne and Perth, respectively. The program for the Victorian meeting included representatives from CSIRO, Deakin University, Peter MacCallum Institute, Bio21 Institute, Monash Synchrotron Science and IDT.

A national meeting involving all regional coordinators was held on the 29th of January 2004 at the School of Chemistry, University of Sydney.
