Research Profile

For the last ten years I have been working on metal-induced carcinogenesis (especially that due to cadmium and nickel) and metal-based anticancer drugs. I have a group of seven postgraduate students working on metal-induced carcinogenesis and metal-based anticancer drugs. I have significant experience in studying metal-DNA interactions and designing new metal-based anticancer drugs. Some of our designed complexes have shown very significant activity against a number of human cancer cell lines. The University of Sydney had a provisional patent entitled: “Polynuclear compounds with therapeutic uses thereof” on some of the compounds.
